What are Air Cooled Industrial Chiller System ?

Air cooled industrial chiller systems are refrigeration systems that low temperature of machines ,remove heat from production process and spaces by circulating water or other fluids that uses ambient air as the heat rejection medium.In other words, the air cooled chiller chiller is not in charge of generating cold: it dissipates heat by the air blowers, facilitating its transference outside of the allocated space. Unlike traditional industrial chillers that use cooling towers or groundwater, air cooled industrial chiller systems rely on air blowers to dissipate heat outside the building.

What Are Components of an Air Cooled Industrial Chiller?

There are four main components of an air cooled industrial chiller are:Compressor ,condenser,heat exchange or evaporator and expansion valves

Air Cooled Industrial Chiller Compressor

The compressor provides the driving force that moves the refrigerant through the system,which can be seen as the heart of the chiller .The different types of compressors are screw, reciprocating, scroll, rotary, and centrifugal. We generally use two main types chiller : one is scroll compressor for 1 TR to 60 TR cooling capacity of air cooled industrial chiller ;the other one is screw compressor for above 60 TR cooling capacity of air cooled industrial chiller.

Air Cooled Industrial Chiller Condenser

The condenser is a heat exchanger that transfers heat from the chiller to the air and is cooled by air. Air cooled industrial chiller condensers consist of copper tubes carrying liquid refrigerant and aluminum fins that facilitate heat transfer to the passing air by fans ,so there are fans on the top of air cooled industrial chiller .These fans are what distinguish air-cooled industrial chillers from water-cooled industrial chillers.  

Air Cooled Industrial Chiller Heat Exchange(Evaporator)

The evaporator is a heat exchange that transfers heat from refrigerant to water or coolant .In the evaporator, heat is extracted from the refrigerant before it enters the condenser. There are three types evaporators for air cooled industrial chiller are coil, shell and tube, and plate type . The efficiency of the heat transfer is an essential function of an air cooled industrial chiller, with high efficiency being measured by an evaporators ability to transfer more energy using less heat exchange area.

Air Cooled Industrial Chiller Expansion Valves

The expansion valve for air cooled industrial chiller is keeping that balance between the right amount of liquid refrigerant and the right amount of super-heat between the condenser and the evaporator.

What are the Types of Air Cooled Industrial Chillers?

Air cooled industrial chillers are divided into scroll chiller and screw chiller based on the types of compressors they use,also are categorized to portable air cooled industrial chiller and stationary industrial air cooled chiller.

Scroll Chiller

Scroll chiller refers to small chiller from 1/2 TR to 60 TR cooling capacity , which use Panasonic,Danfoss and Copeland scroll compressors.

Screw Chiller

Screw chiller refers to big chiller above 60TR cooling capacity , which use Fufeng,Hanbell or Biter screw compressors.

Portable Air Cooled Industrial Chiller

The term "portable air cooled industrial chiller" describes the chiller's standard configuration rather than its mobility. Once installed, most portable air cooled industrial chiller units cannot be moved. This portable chiller refers to any chiller system that includes essential components such as the compressor ,condenser ,evaporator refrigeration circuit, pump(s), and water tank.

These components are all contained within a single footprint. Portable air cooled industrial chillers can be found ranging from 1/2 to 60 TR in cooling capacity.

Stationary Air Cooled Industrial Chiller

stationary air cooled industrial chiller refers to a chiller without an integrated pump and reservoir. The primary component of a stationary air cooled industrial chiller is a standalone chiller unit connected by piping to a water pump and a separate water tank for running. Stationary air cooled industrial chillers can be found ranging from 2 TR to 250 TR in cooling capacity.
